KOKOLAKIS, M.,
Ho Hypobolimaios tou Menandrou.
Private Presses, (Typographeion Myrtidou), Athens, 1962. 114p. Sewn. Note from WGA on front cover. With author's dedication on free endpaper. (Rare). In New Greek. 'Although it does not say on the cover, this work is identical with an article published by the author in Athina, 1962. (? But on the front cover of this copy this is clearly stated). Most of it deals with frags. 416 and 417 Koerte. I am not convinced by his arguments for the unity of the former (...). But there is much to be said for his opinion that in frag. 416 'kataluseis' has no reference to inns, but merely means 'make an end, die'. (...) On frags. 417 and 420 he effectively opposes attempts to see references to Stoicism, and in his final section he brings a judicious scepticism to bear on speculative reconstruction of the plot.' ( F.H. SANDBACH in The Classical Review (New Series), 1963, pp.340-41). From the library of the late Prof. W. Geoffrey Arnott.
