Article 1. Scope

These terms and conditions apply to all offers, orders and agreements made by Scrinium Classical Antiquity (hereafter: Scrinium), and exclude any other Terms and Conditions drafted by the client. Changes to these terms are only legally valid if they have been agreed upon in writing. These terms respect the rights of the purchaser.

Article 2. Sales

A sales agreement is fixed when your order is accepted by Scrinium. Orders of books that are not in stock (new books or printing on demands) that will be ordered for you at the publisher, cannot be cancelled. Scrinium is allowed to refuse orders or set certain conditions, unless otherwise determined. If an order is not accepted, Scrinium will inform the client within ten (10) days after receipt of the order, and in case prepayment has been done make a refund as soon as possible.

Article 3. Prices and payments

The prices for the products mentioned on our website are in EURO (€), including VAT (9%) and excluding shipping and insurance, unless otherwise indicated. Scrinium has the right to change prices. However, once an order has been placed, prices cannot be changed. Customers who have a VAT registration number are urged to give us their VAT-number as we are required to show the number on our invoice, otherwise VAT will be charged.

Payments can be made with iDeal, PayPal, credit card, wire transfer and some other (international) payment methods shown in the Payment drop down menu.

Article 4. Delivery

In case prepayment has been made for a book that subsequently turns out to be no longer available, a refund for the book in question will be made as soon as possible. For new books and printing on demand titles the delivery time provided on our website is only an indication. There is no right to financial compensation or cancellation if the delivery time is exceeded, unless the delivery of the products is that long, that we cannot reasonably expect you to abide by the agreement. In such a case, you are allowed to cancel the order. Scrinium can cancel the order if there are circumstances beyond their control that prohibit them to supply the products.

Article 5. Return of goods - Right of withdrawal

Scrinium is selling books. All antiquarian books supplied by Scrinium are in good antiquarian condition unless otherwise described. Minor defaults are not always mentioned. A customer should always ask for further details on the condition when he has specific questions or expectations. When the book(s) received do not meet our description or - probably must have got damaged during shipping and transport - the customer should inform Scrinium as soon as possible, but at least within ten (10) working days after receipt of the books. The customer should inform Scrinium in writing and with a motivation. If it is proven that the books do not meet the necessary standards, Scrinium will ask you to return the book(s) and send you a replacement copy (when possible), or grant you a complete refund (including shipping costs to and from).

Other returns are only accepted within a period of 10 working days (or a period agreed for by Scrinium) after receipt of the book(s), and only when you have informed us in writing. Return shipping costs will not be refunded.

The book(s) have to be send back to us to our address, i.e. Scrinium Classical Antiquity, Hollenberg 13, 7121 MC Aalten, the Netherlands without undue delay and in any event not later than ten (10) working days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to Scrinium. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of ten (10) days has expired.

The right of withdrawal is not applicable on new books or printing on demands ordered from or produced by the publisher especially for you. This means that new books or printing on demands ordered on your request from our distributors or publishers can not be returned unless the books have been damaged during transport.
