SEMIOTICA DELLA NOVELLA LATINA. Atti del seminario interdisciplinare 'La novella latina' Perugia 11-13 aprile 1985.
Herder, Roma, 1986. 317p. ills.(B&W photographs). Sewn. Very few light remains of pencil markings and strikes. Cover a little bit grimy. (Rare). 'This is a useful collection of sixteen papers on the Latin novella, prepared for publication at the Istituto di Filologia Latina in the University of Perugia. The contributors are all Italian. Most of the papers are naturally concerned with the anecdotes in the romances of Petronius and Apuleius, but a few delineate the later history of some of the stories in the litature and art of the medieval period and beyond. (....) Students of the Roman novel, and those with an interest in the later evolution of the Milesian Tale, will find much that is suggestive and helpful in this collection, and University Libraries should certainly be encouraged to purchase it.' (P.G. WALSH in the Classical Review (New Series), 1987, p.309).
