Douglas Young (1913 - 1973) was a classical scholar, Scottish poet, translator and politician. He was the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) 1942-1945. He was lecturer in Greek at the University of St Andrews from 1953 to 1968. From then till his death he was professor of Classics in Canada.
